A 55-year-old man, who claims to be the CEO of a trading company was arrested for stealing 16 units of tooth paste from a shopping center in Saga City around 7:00 p.m. on November 13 last year. The total retail value of the items was 22,748 yen.
The next day, the store manager noticed the stock of the product had dropped unusually and checked the security camera footage. It showed the shoplifting incident, and the store reported it to the police.
The man admitted to the allegation, stating, “I stole them to sell and turn them into cash.”
Police are continuing the investigation to determine whether there were additional offenses.
