A 64-year-old man was referred to prosecutors on the morning of the 6th. He is suspected of possessing a knife without a valid reason inside a vacant house in the Inatori area of Higashiizu Town on April 4th.
In March, a robbery resulting in injury occurred in Higashiizu Town, where a light truck was stolen and a woman was injured. While investigating that case, police officers found the man inside the vacant house. After about five hours of barricading himself, he was arrested.
Inside the house, police found a bag containing 20,000 to 30,000 yen in cash, which the owner of the house had no knowledge of. Police are now closely investigating the suspect’s actions prior to the incident.
