A 25-year-old Chinese national was arrested on suspicion of assault.
The Chinese man is suspected of punching a male employee at a hotel in Kushiro City, Hokkaido, around 8:50 A.M. on the 4th.
According to the police, the man was staying at the hotel for tourism purposes at the time.
The incident occurred when the man went to the hotel’s restaurant for breakfast and requested a seat with a river view. When his request was not accommodated, he became enraged and allegedly struck the employee who was assisting him.
Another staff member called 110, but the man had already left the hotel by the time police arrived. The investigation continued, and the man was arrested the following day, January 5, near Kushiro Airport.
During questioning, the man partially denied the charges, stating, “I only pushed him; I didn’t punch him.” The police are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident.
