Xiao Fuyong (44), a Chinese National, was arrested for stealing a Rolex wristwatch worth 3,550,800 Yen from a store on Fukuoka City.
Xiao allegedly pretended he was going to buy the watch, and while the employee was counting the bills, is believed to have hidden the watch in his bag.
Afterwards, he was reported as saying, “I’m going to exchange Chinese currency,” left the store, and fled.
In response to a call, the police used surveillance footage to identify the suspect.
