A company director and his wife were arrested for providing accommodation to a Vietnamese national without residency status.
According to the police, the suspect, Vietnamese national Dinh Thi Hai, and her husband, Nobuo Yamazaki, are suspected of providing accommodation in Ibaraki Prefecture, to a Vietnamese man without resident status between September last year and June this year.
The accommodation was owned by Dinh and others, and they were hosting Vietnamese nationals who remained in Japan illegally, for a monthly rent of 40,000 yen. During investigations, Dinh admitted to the charges, saying she knew he was overstaying, while Yamazaki denied the charges.
