A former male host accused of receiving payments at a host bar, knowing that the money had been swindled by a woman calling herself “Riri”, has been sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, and a suspension for five years.
According to the indictment, former male host Hiroshi Tanaka, 27, is accused of violating Organized Crime Punishment Law by accepting 38.5 million yen in cash for food and drink at a male host bar in Kabukicho, between 2021 and 2022, knowing that the money had been swindled by Mai Watanabe, 26, known as Itadaki Joshi, Riri.
At the sentencing on November 7, the Nagoya District Court ruled that the offender was selfish and greedy, repeatedly accepting the proceeds of crime in order to increase sales and improve his position at the bar, but also that he acknowledged the fact and showed remorse and sentenced him to three years imprisonment, five years probation, a fine of 800,000 yen, and an additional fine of 10.79 million yen.
