Michio Tazaki (73), unemployed, Iwaki City, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and injury. According to the allegation, just before noon on the 19th, at a supermarket in Iwaki City, Tazaki stole one bottle of gyoza sauce. When a female security guard in her 60’s who witnessed the crime confronted him in the store parking lot, he allegedly pushed her in the chest with both hands to avoid being caught, causing her to fall and sustain a scrape on her right arm.
Tazaki fled the scene, but based on witness testimony and security camera footage, police identified him and arrested him in the early hours of the 20th.
Tazaki has admitted to stealing the ponzu and pushing the security guard. Police are continuing to investigate the full circumstances of the incident.h
