Three women aged 19 to 27 were arrested on suspicion of prostitution on a street in Kuta Ward, Osaka.
The three are suspected of having engaged in so called “Tachinbo,” or in other words, street prostitution in Osaka by waiting for customers on the street between February and March of this year.
According to the police, the three were engaged in prostitution for approximately 15,000 Yen each, with one of them earning about 40 million yen over 11 months.
The two of them have admitted to the charges, but the 27-year-old denies the charges. The three said they wanted money to go to host clubs and for cosmetic surgery.
The police have stated that they will continue to strengthen their crackdown on hookers.
