A 42-year-old man arrested for attacking TV personality Haruna Kojima was sent to the prosecutor’s office on October 30.
On October 28, a launch event for Haruna Kojima’s photo book was held at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA in front of Shibuya Station, Tokyo. The incident occurred after the event.
After leaving the venue, Kojima was hugged from behind and was pushed down on the street. He was immediately pulled off by the surrounding people, shackled and held down on the road by security guards.
The suspect was later identified as a self-proclaimed language student from Taiwan, and a fan of Kojima’s.
Around August, Kojima’s office consulted the Tokyo Police Department about an extreme fan believed to be a foreigner. The police are investigating whether the radical fan who was consulted and the man arrested this time is the same person.
