Vietnamese National Charged With More Incidents

The Hiroshima Prefectural Police announced that they have filed additional charges against a Vietnamese man for stealing 1,477 items, including pharmaceuticals, worth approximately 7.4 million yen from drugstores in Hiroshima Prefecture. They also stated that the investigation has been concluded.

The suspect, Can Van Quyet, a 32-year-old Vietnamese National. The thefts occurred between August the year before last and June last year at 36 locations, including a drugstore in Hiroshima City.

During police questioning, Can admitted to the charges and stated, “I did it to resell the items and make money.”

This is the seventh time Can has been additionally charged. He committed similar crimes not only in Hiroshima City but also in Kure Fukuyama City. The total amount of damage from the series of incidents is estimated at 17.39 million yen.
