A 28-year-old Cambodian National was re-arrested on suspicion of violating the Stimulants Control Act. According to the police, in May of last year, the man was in possession of approximately 0.572 grams of methamphetamine inside a vehicle he was using at the time.

The man had previously been arrested and indicted for stealing about 4,500 meters of power cable, valued at around 19.2 million yen, from a solar power facility in Yonezawa City in April of last year, together with accomplices.

The vehicle believed to have been used in the cable theft was abandoned within Yonezawa City. When the police investigated the vehicle, they found and seized methamphetamine, which was determined to be in the man’s possession.

The man has previously been arrested three times in Miyagi Prefecture for theft and other offenses. This arrest marks at least his fifth.

The police are continuing their investigation, including the possibility of other offenses.
