0

Since last month, there have been a series of robbery incidents in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, where Japanese nationals have been threatened with guns and robbed of money and valuables at point blank.

The Japanese Embassy in the Philippines is urging extreme caution. According to the Japanese Embassy in the Philippines, from the 19th to the 31st of last month, three robbery incidents targeting Japanese nationals occurred in areas such as Makati in Metro Manila. The reported method involves groups approaching victims on the street, threatening them with what appear to be handguns, and stealing valuables, bags, and passports.

In the Philippines, crime tends to increase as Christmas approaches, and the Japanese Embassy is advising people to exercise great caution, especially when moving around at night. It also warns that, in the event of a robbery, they should prioritize their safety and avoid resisting at all costs.
