On April 15, the Obihiro Police Station in Hokkaido arrested a 35-year-old Vietnamese man on suspicion of committing an indecent act toward a woman in her 20’s, whom he knew, at a restaurant in Obihiro City around 8:30 p.m. on April 3.
The incident came to light the following day when the woman contacted the police consultation line, #9110.
During questioning, the man partially denied the allegation, stating, “I only hugged her.”
The police are continuing to investigate the detailed circumstances and motive behind the incident.
