On the 30th, the Gifu Chuo Police Station arrested a 21-year-old student, on suspicion of kidnapping a minor.
The suspect is accused of knowingly taking a female minor, from within Gifu Prefecture to a lodging facility in Gifu City and abducting her between 7:45 p.m. on the 27th and 4:35 p.m. on the 28th.
According to the police, the girl’s mother filed a missing person report with the station. Security camera footage and other evidence led to the suspect being identified.
