B’s International (Tokyo), an apparel company selling clothing popular brands such as X-girl, announced on December 2 that it had filed a lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court against the Japanese subsidiary of Chinese online retailer SHEIN and others. The lawsuit seeks an injunction against sales and damages totaling approximately 110 million yen, alleging infringement of trademark rights through the sale of counterfeit goods. The lawsuit filed on November 28.
According to B’s, counterfeit T-shirts bearing the logos of four brands for which B’s holds the trademark rights had been sold on SHEIN since at least May this year. After repeatedly requesting SHEIN to cease sales of the counterfeit goods, and finding that sufficient action had not been taken, B’s decided to take legal action.
