A fire broke out in an apartment in the capital, Budapest, Hungary, where a 43-year-old Japanese woman lived with her two children.

Her ex-husband reported the fire, and firefighting efforts were carried out, but the woman’s body was found inside the apartment.

Initially, the fire was believed to have been caused by accidental ignition due to smoking in bed. However, when police analyzed security camera footage, they discovered that the ex-husband had changed clothes and disguised himself before and after the fire.

The police have detained the ex-husband, an Irish National, and arrested him on suspicion of murder.

According to a friend of the woman, she had been repeatedly threatened by her ex-husband, who told her things like “I’ll kill you,” and she had consulted the police about it.

The two children were attending school at the time of the incident.
