The Kyoto Prefectural Police arrested a 30-year-old Taiwanese investor on suspicion of voyeuristic filming.
The suspect is accused of attempting to film under a 22-year-old woman’s skirt at around 5:35 PM on the 4th, at an escalator inside a commercial facility in Kyoto City, by concealing a smartphone in his bag and inserting it beneath her skirt.
According to the police, the man was visiting Japan as a tourist. The woman noticed the hidden camera and raised her voice to alert those around her. As the suspect tried to flee, male employees of the facility restrained him.
