South Korean National Arrested for Driving Without License

0

A South Korean National has been arrested on suspicion of driving without a license in December last year in Shibata City and using another person’s name to sign documents when police processed the case as failure to carry a driver’s license.

The suspect, a 47-year-old South Korean National, was arrested on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (driving without a license) and falsifying and using a private document with an official seal.

At around midnight on December 20, the man stopped his vehicle far past the stop line at an intersection in Shibata City. A patrolling police officer approached him for questioning and discovered that he did not have a driver’s license. When the man claimed, “I forgot my license,” the police processed the case as failure to carry a license and issued a citation. However, a later investigation revealed that the name he signed on the citation belonged to someone else and that his own license had been suspended due to accumulated traffic violations, leading to his arrest.

During questioning, the man denied the charges, stating, “I didn’t think I was driving without a license.” Police are conducting further investigations to determine if there are any additional offenses.
