1

The Hyogo Prefectural Police arrested a 28-year-old Chinese national, Ma Arnold, from Ashiya City, on the 30th on suspicion of attempted robbery and murder. This is the third arrest. The suspect denied the allegations, stating, “I have nothing to say.”

The incident occurred on the 16th. Two Malaysian men, who fled the scene in a rental car and returned it to a store at Kansai Airport, had already been arrested on the same suspicion.

According to the prefectural police, the suspect is believed to have informed the two men about the location of the crime, and his involvement in the incident emerged through investigations using security cameras and other means.

The arrest is on suspicion that the suspect conspired with the two men and, around 10:15 AM on the 16th, stabbed a 35-year-old man in the abdomen and other parts with a sashimi knife, causing injury, and stole one smartphone.
